1. Who we are
InsightSpec AI (“InsightSpec”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Prodd Limited, trading as InsightsDriven (NZBN 9429048793148) in Auckland, New Zealand.
InsightSpec turns a product’s feature specs and goals into an analytics tracking plan and a Metrics One Pager. It is available as a web app at insightspec.ai, as Claude MCP and custom GPT.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to contact@insightsdrivenpm.com.
2. Information we collect

Please don’t put personal information in your inputs. InsightSpec needs product descriptions, not data about your customers. If your specs contain names, emails or other personal information about third parties, you are responsible for having the right to share it with us.
When you use InsightSpec through Claude or ChatGPT, those platforms collect information under their own privacy policies. We only receive what the integration passes to us.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account, including your free first plan
- Generate tracking plans and Metrics One Pagers from your inputs
- Process payments for paid plans and new plan versions
- Provide support and respond to your messages
- Keep the service secure and prevent misuse
- Understand how InsightSpec is used so we can improve it, using aggregated or de-identified data where possible
- Send product updates and, if you opt in, marketing emails from InsightSpec and Insights Driven PM
- Meet our legal and tax obligations
AI processing. Your inputs are processed by AI models, provided through our platform provider Lovable, to generate outputs.
Cookies. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. With your consent, we use analytics cookies from Mixpanel (in the app), and Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (on our website), to see how they are used. Clarity records anonymised sessions and heatmaps of how visitors use our landing pages; it masks text you type. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser.
Legal bases (for users in the EU/UK). We rely on contract (to provide the service), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), consent (marketing, analytics cookies) and legal obligation (tax records).
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run InsightSpec, and only as much as they need.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a sale or restructure of our business (with the buyer bound by this policy).
Mixpanel export and referral link. Exporting a Lexicon file does not send your data to Mixpanel; you upload it yourself. If you sign up to Mixpanel through our referral link, Mixpanel may tell us that a referral occurred. We may receive a commission. Your use of Mixpanel is covered by Mixpanel’s own terms and privacy policy.
Overseas disclosure. Some providers are outside New Zealand. Under Information Privacy Principle 12, we only use providers that are subject to comparable privacy safeguards, or we put contractual protections in place. By using InsightSpec, you acknowledge your information may be stored and processed overseas.
5. Storage, security and retention
We protect your information with encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls limited to people who need it, and reputable cloud providers. No system is completely secure. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the Privacy Act requires.

When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.
6. Your rights and choices
Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to access the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. If you are in the EU, UK or another region with similar laws, you can also ask us to delete it, restrict or object to its use, or give you a portable copy.
Email contact@insightsdrivenpm.com to make a request. We will respond within 20 working days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
- Marketing: unsubscribe using the link in any email, at any time.
- Account deletion: delete your account in settings or email us. We will delete your inputs and plans, except records we must keep by law.
- Cookies: change your choice in the cookie banner or your browser.
Children. InsightSpec is for business use. It is not intended for anyone under 16.
Complaints. Contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, or your local data protection authority.
Changes. We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with its date, and email you about significant changes.
